A Designer’s Toolbox for Revolution

It's time for a design revolution, and the is time now!

Design Revolution Now Poster

It's time for designers who listen, understand, reflect, take their time, persevere, point out and give space.

A DESIGNER’S TOOLBOX FOR REVOLUTION exhibits, questions, and contextually repositions a range of methods in the working process of designers that are gathered together under the umbrella term of the tool. The playful exhibition architecture – which is entirely made from re-used cardboard – invites visitors to investigate, interact, and immerse themselves in the designer’s toolbox.

As “Design Revolution Now!” (DRN!), we are trying to find out what and how design could become useful again. We are forming networks and rummaging through designers' toolboxes, defining new tools and restoring forgotten tools in order to find meaningful ways again. The range of these new tools for designers - from tangible objects to intangible skills - has not yet been fully discussed. The revolution has not been completed and is not conclusive in itself. Criticizing the system within the system is both an oxymoron and a privilege. Those who revolutionize create chaos without already knowing every mechanism of the new order. Together we start here with everyone who wants to be at the center of the action, on the tightrope of renewal. With a figurative toolbox as the center, we invite our visitors to enter into discourse and define and invent their own design tools.

The Essay

Channeling the group's frustration with the current state of the design industry, we authored an essay expressing our fears, hopes, and demands for the future of design. This essay was later published in falstaff LIVING magazine.

Workshops and Guesttalks

To ignite the revolution, we organized a series of workshops where participants had the opportunity to create their own design tools and share their experiences within the design world. Additionally, we hosted workshops specifically tailored for children.

We also arranged expert talks to gain valuable insights from professionals in the design industry.
